Screening OptionsCountywide Criminal CheckA countywide criminal record search will provide details and the current disposition of any misdemeanor or felony conviction and pending cases. Criminal records will be searched in the jurisdictions where the applicant currently resides, previous addresses and work address. We conduct an on-site visit to the respective county courthouse where an electronic docket search will be performed. The greater majority of our clients choose countywide criminal background searches because they are clearly the most accurate and timely way to obtain current criminal information. It is highly recommended that an Address History and Social Security Trace Report be performed to enhance the thoroughness of the record search.Statewide Criminal CheckA state level search is the standard search that provides felony conviction information, state department of corrections records, and misdemeanor information. However, some counties don’t report all information up to the state level, so an applicant’s record might come back clean, when they do in fact have a record in that state. With a county level criminal background check you can be confident you’ll find everything.Civil Court SearchWith a civil background check an employer can discover if an applicant has sued former employers or has been sued for reasons that are relevant to employment. A civil background check will also show any bankruptcies. The background check information that is listed in each report includes the date of filing the civil court cases, case type, case number or file record, jurisdiction, and, if available, the identity of parties involved.Social Security Trace (Address Verification)SSN validation first verifies that the number exists in the system. Next, the report provides the state in which the SSN was issued, the year it was issued, and if it is a currently active number, or if a death claim has been filed in relation to the number. This is a vital check for any applicant, and should be considered as the first line of defense against fraud and against Social Security Number identity theft applicants.Motor Vehicle Report (Driving Records)When you conduct a driving record check you have the option of searching a five or seven year DMV driving record. This Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will provide verification of driving privilege, any other names used, identification verification, and a physical description. Additionally, the MVR will show any violations such as speeding tickets or other minor traffic violations, accidents, revoked license, or driving while intoxicated.I-9 Employment EligibilityWith the constant reform of government employment eligibility regulations, it is extremely difficult for employers to fully comply with all I-9 employment eligibility verification laws. Our I-9 compliance offering add real time employee eligibility verifications to your screening program.Government RegistriesBasis gives you confidence to help you make the right hiring decisions with current data from our Government Registries databases. Each of our Government Registries databases offers instant access to a wealth of information:
Education VerificationEducation verification can confirm what schools or institutions an applicant attended, if he or she graduated, the degrees that were earned, and the dates of attendance and/or graduation.License & Credential VerificationA license and credentials verification will check state records and report the type of license a person has, if it is currently valid, the dates issued, and by what state licensing authority. We will also be able to tell you if that individual has any disciplinary issues brought against them or other public issues. We can also inform you if the applicant has any associated licenses as well.Employment VerificationEmployment verification will check an applicant’s place and date of employment, job title, reason for leaving, and in some instances salary. This information helps you verify an applicant’s past job history, eliminating any unexplained gaps in employment, which also ensures that appropriate jurisdictions have been checked for criminal records.Tenant ScreeningThis search is conducted by an on-site visit to the respective county courthouse. It will provide you with the date that the eviction proceedings commenced, the plaintiff's name, date possession was granted, and if a money judgment was obtained. Since a large percentage of Forcible Entry and Detainer Actions do not appear on credit reports, this is extremely valuable information for the residential property community. |
